Brian began directing professionally in England and later returned to Canada where he has received awards and recognition for having made a ‘significant and lasting contribution to Alberta’s theatrical heritage.’  With experience and interests ranging from the classics onwards, including musicals, revues and opera, Brian has four decades of experience as a stage director, an acting and dialect coach, and a theatre educator.  Recent memorable directing experiences include Hamlet, Arcadia, Into The Woods, The Lark, The Mikado, Noises Off, The Beggar’s Opera and Macbeth.  Since returning to Vancouver, Brian has been a busy dialect coach and has directed stage productions such as Welcome To Thebes‘Tis Pity She’s A Whore, and last year’s Ovation Award-winning musical, COMPANY.  In the spring, Brian will direct the west coast premiere of Lucy Prebble’s play, ENRON.
