Book Time with a Coach

Work one-to-one with some of the industry’s most accomplished voice-over professionals. On The Mic private coaching is built for performers who want focused, high-level guidance—whether you are preparing for an important audition, sharpening a specific skill, or creating a personalized plan for your next stage of growth.

Our coaches bring decades of real-world experience from the studio, the booth, and the business itself. From animation, commercials, narration, video games, dubbing, and audiobooks to home studio setup, demos, auditions, branding, and career strategy, you will receive practical insight tailored to where you are now and where you want to go.

Coaching is available in person or remotely via Zoom or Google Meet. Hourly rates vary by instructor and service.

Your Demo Reel is Your Calling Card

Your voice-over demo is your front door to the industry: the first thing agents, casting directors, studios, and clients hear when deciding whether to bring you in to audition or book you. It is your professional calling card—showcasing your sound, range, skill, and point of view in a matter of seconds.

On The Mic produces demos for performers whose skills are genuinely market-ready. A great demo is not simply a collection of clips; it is a strategic, professionally produced representation of your ability to compete. With one opportunity to make a first impression, your demo needs to sound current, confident, and ready for the level of work you want to book.

For adult performers, specialized demos are the strongest approach. Animation, commercial, narration, video game, and other markets each require a distinct sound and skill set—so your material should be tailored to the area you are pursuing.

Kids and teens typically create a more versatile animation-and-commercial medley, designed to highlight the individuality, personality, and natural strength of their voice.

Every OTM demo production includes the studio, professional engineer, director, mixing, and editing—delivering a polished, industry-ready demo built to open doors.

MP3 Audition Recording in Studio B

Do you have an MP3 audition you need to get done and into your agent right away? OTM offers recording in studio, either with coaching or without. Harrison, our coordinator, will record your auditions in house and if you want coaching from one of our coaches/instructors, we can provide that as well.

Podcasting

Create your podcast in a professional, broadcast-quality environment. On The Mic’s Studio A is built for multi-host and guest conversations, with a comfortable, acoustically treated recording space for two or more people—plus a separate control room for your engineer or producer.

The studio is fully isolated from the control room, allowing the production team to communicate with hosts and guests without microphone bleed. Bringing in a remote guest via Zoom or another online platform? We have you covered.

Studio A is ideal for audio podcasts, interview shows, branded content, and video podcast capture. Bookings are generally available weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with limited weekend availability due to scheduled classes. The minimum booking time is one hour.

For video podcasts, we provide a synced MP4 or MOV file with your recorded audio. Video editing is not currently included, so we recommend bringing a thumb drive with at least 64 GB of storage to take your files with you.

Control Room

Our producer and engineering space is in an isolated room. Full access to a powerful Mac-based Pro Tools computer and PreSonus Studiolive console means you’ll be able to leave with a high-quality uncompressed final product. There are couches in the control room as well for comfy pre-podcast talk or if you want to bring a guest to observe.

Setup

Our main podcast desk includes Røde booms and Audio-Technica BP40 dynamic microphones which were designed as a direct competitor for the Shure SM7B microphone. These microphones have an exceptional range that capture the nuances of the human voice, as well as reject a off-axis and rear sound so that more “you” is heard and less of the person sitting sitting across the table.

Intimate Conversation

There’s no substitute for a face to face conversation. When you sit down with your co-host in person, you’ll experience the dynamic of human conversation, something that can be vague when you’re talking to someone in a remote call and can’t see them, or have to deal with poor audio quality.

Guests: Audio-Technica BP4073 Shotgun

Guests can utilize Audio-Technica’s BP4073 shotgun microphone. This is a broadcast quality microphone with extreme directionality, which means you don’t need to worry about your guest having perfect microphone technique. They can sit farther away from the microphone and be comfortable, which lends itself to a better interview.
